Jennifer Raff

Jennifer Raff is an anthropological geneticist and assistant professor in the anthropology department at the University of Kansas. Her research centers around understanding human prehistory through analyzing the genomes of ancient and contemporary populations. Currently, she focuses on the prehistory of North American populations and addresses questions about the initial peopling of the continent, as well as region-specific histories in the North American Arctic and mid-continental United States. Raff is also keenly interested in public scientific literacy and has written on numerous topics including pseudoarchaeology, race and genetics, and vaccines on her outreach blog, Violent Metaphors.
